Talking to mediapersons after having a lap of the JCD National Cricket Academy Stadium in the battery-operated cart wheel driven by Indian Amateur Boxing Association president Abhey Singh Chautala, Sidhu described Tau Devi Lal as an "institution and inspiration. He was a true sportsman." "It was Chaudhary Devi Lal who was the first leader who raised the voice of Indian farmers."
Sidhu said "Abhey and Ajay Chautala, who is president of the Table Tennis Federation of India, are keeping the tradition alive to promote sports activities."
