Chandigarh, April 22–Mewat of Haryana will now have a separate teaching cadre and 5000 posts of teachers have been sanctioned for this area to improve the level of education here. Urdu would be taught in all the primary schools of district Mewat and 544 posts of Urdu teachers have been sanctioned to promote the language.
It was disclosed by MLA Mewat, Mr Aftab Ahmed today. He thanked the Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, he said that with this decision, the the long pending demand of the people of Mewat had been fiulfilled. The State Government had already issued the notification in this regard.
He said that the Government had notified Mewat District School Education Group C and B Rules and it had been made mandatory that those teachers who were willing for the appointment in Mewat would not be transferred to any other district. However, applicants from all the districts of the state could apply for these posts.
He said that the Government had sanctioned 2910 posts of Primary Teachers, 265 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), 121 TGT Science, 105 TGT Mathematics, two each TGT for Urdu, Home Science and Music, one TGT Arts, and 15 Post-graduate Teachers (PGT) of Physical Education. Also, 341 elementary headmasters, 410 head teachers, 25 principals and 44 headmasters had been sanctioned. He said that 33 per cent posts had been reserved for women.
He said that with a view to promote Urdu language, State Government has also sanctioned 544 posts of Urdu teachers. Urdu would be taught in all the primary schools of district Mewat. He said that in the last two years, 1500 teachers have been appointed in Mewat. The Government has also opened Aarohi schools and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Mewat.
