Chandigarh, July 24 – Haryana Minister of state for Home and Local Bodies Mr Gopal Kanda toady said that all roundabouts and parks in towns of the state would be renovated and beautified as an action plan was being chalked out for the purpose.
Mr Kanda said that roundabouts and the parks would be given to the private companies and firms for maintenance. The companies and firms could also display their activities there as per the prescribed standards.He said that to improve the financial status of the Municipalities, the land lying vacant and without any use with the boards and corporations would be sold. Wherever possible, the land would be utilized by constructing buildings so that the vacant land would be used and the earnings of Municipalities should be ensured. The strengthening of the Municipalities would definitely accelerate the pace of development, he added.
He said that decentralization of power has been ensured by giving more financial and administrative rights to the Panchayati Raj Institutions. The Gram Panchayats have been given the rights to carry out developmental works worth Rs 10 lakh. The funds would be directly deposited in the accounts of the Panchayats to avoid any hindrance in developmental works. To facilitate the people and bring transparency in the system, time frame has been prescribed in the delivery of 15 essential services, he added.
