Karnal-Nov 5- Government Railway Police (GRP), Karnal has arrested 13 persons including the main accused who had raped a minor girl near Railway Station Bajida Jatan in district Karnal recently.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Police said that the Police has also arrested a lady in this connection but two more accused persons were yet to be arrested.
He said that on November 3, the Assistant Station Master(ASM) of Bajida Jatan Railway Station telephoned the Police Station of GRP, Karnal that a boy and a minor girl were roaming around at the Railway Station under suspicious circumstances. On questioning, it appeared to him that the boy had kidnapped the girl with the intention of marrying her. The girl was questioned but in the meantime, the boy managed to escape.
He said that based on the telephonic information given by the ASM, the First Information Report No.56 dated November 3, 2012 under section 363, 366 IPC was registered in the said Police Station. The girl belongs to Tarori town of district Karnal.
The police immediately swung into action and a number of teams were formed. Mr. H.S. Dhoon, Superintendent of Police, GRP co-ordinated the investigation and as a result, the main accused was arrested within 24 hours of the incident that is on November 4. Detailed investigation was conducted and based on the girl’s statement and other evidence it became clear that some more persons were involved in the kidnapping and subsequent rape of the girl.
He said, as per the available evidence, the girl was called by a lady of the same locality and was subjected to sex with two boys. Later on, while returning to her house she was raped by 11 more persons. After that she was taken to the Railway Station by one more person who was seen by ASM on the railway station. Out of the 13 persons, the six accused persons were arrested on November 4 evening and other six accused persons have been arrested today. Till now a total of 13 accused persons including the lady who initially called the girl have been arrested. Two more accused persons remain to be arrested.
He said the case was being investigated and it would be sent to the court of law as early as possible after completion of investigation.
