Kumari Selja, Union Minister laid Foundation Stone of proposed Convention Centre at Red Bishop Complex, Panchkula. It is estimated to cost Rs. 6.97 crore. Hall will accommodate 1000 people and will be constructed over an area of 1.90 Acre. The Union Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned Rs. 5.0 crore for the project and the remaining amount would be borne by the State Government.
The Convention Hall will have 27000 sft covered area with entrance foyer, rooms, public toilets, store, kitchen, pantry, etc. There is a provision for underground storage tank, rain water harvesting, security systems, and fire fighting facilities. The surroundings will be nicely landscaped and adequate parking area is also provided.
“The building will add beauty to the existing Red Bishop Complex and will be most modern, acoustically treated hall for holding various kinds of conventions, seminars, meetings and functions”, said Architect Surinder Bahga of Saakaar Foundation which designed this project. M/s. Jatinder Singh and Company will execute the work.
