Chandigarh, March 25 – Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Kanwar Pal Gujjar said that it is for the first time after year 2011 that not a single member of the House has been named or suspended during the entire proceedings of the House.
Mr. Gujjar was addressing the media persons on the concluding day of Budget session here today.
He said that it is the longest session of last ten years in which time of seven sittings was increased by one to one and half hours. As many as 13 sittings were held in present budget session but in total about 15 sittings were organized as time period of seven sittings has been increased.
He said that 602 minutes discussions were held on Governor Address in which 33 members have participated. In the discussions, 17 members of treasury benches have given 259 minutes for debate while 310 minutes have been given to 14 members of opposition and 33 minutes to independents for raising their issues.
Similarly, he said that 30 members have participated in budget debates which lasted for 439 minutes in which 198 minutes given to ruling party members and 236 minutes given to 12 opposition members and five minutes given to two independent members.
He said that discussion were held for about 1400 minutes out of which opposition has given 756 minutes and 602 minutes have been given to ruling party members. Four independent members have spoken for 38 minutes.
