Chandigarh November 2- Haryana Congress has taken a strong exception to the assertions made by Punjab Chief Minister Mr Prakash Singh Badal at a public meeting in Rewari yesterday which reflects that a nexus exists between INLD and Shiromani Akali Dal, which torpedoes the interests of Haryana.
In a statement issued by three Congress leaders including HPCC President Mr Phool Chand Mullana, Power Minister Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav and Political Adviser to Chief Minister, Prof Virender here today, they pointed out that while addressing a public meeting at Rewari, yesterday Mr Prakash Singh Badal had clearly stated, “ INLD has played a vital role in making me Chief Minister of Punjab”. Mr Badal had further added, “ the elections to the Lok Sabha are expected any time and he is keen to see Haryana being ruled by Mr Om Prakash Chautala”. This, they pointed out, was ample proof of the fact that the INLD leader Mr Om Prakash Chautala and Mr Prakash Singh Badal were hand in glove. Their strong bonds and selfish motives are the reason for the delay in resolving the inter-state issues of Haryana and also for creating hindrances in the development of the State.
These leaders urged the people to understand this deep rooted nexus of the INLD and the SAD and reject the INLD whose acts could be termed as stabbing in the back of the people of Haryana.
They said that even the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal too has asserted in Ludhiana yesterday saying, “It is really unfortunate that we are still sharing Chandigarh with Haryana” and “Certain laws need to be changed and we are giving our due representations to Centre regarding our right on Chandigarh. Legal formalities are also being taken care of.”
The Congress leaders said that Chandigarh belonged to Haryana and the Party as well as the present Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has made Haryana Government’s stand on Chandigarh very clear at several fora.
They reminded that Haryana Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has already several times made his stand clear on the issue of Chandigarh that these issues could not be discussed in isolation. If any decision was to be taken, then all the pending issues should be considered keeping in view the decisions and awards of various courts and tribunals.
While reminding the people of Haryana about the charges of corruption leveled against Mr Om Prakash Chautala and his sons and the investigations being made by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the case of amassing huge wealth disproportionate to their income by them, these leaders of Haryana cautioned the people to be aware of the future gimmicks that might be played by the INLD to befool them.
They said that it was high time to give a befitting reply to such selfish leaders and people should boycott them in larger interest of the State. Instead they should strengthen the Congress which has brought about unprecedented development in the State and the country.
