Chandigarh, July 28 –For the convenience of the common people, Haryana government has introduced toll free service on phone number 18001802035 to provide information regarding National Health Insurance Scheme.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the scheme has been implemented in the state to provide quality healthcare to the persons living below poverty line. Under the scheme, five members of each BPL family were insured and their smart card was prepared at a nominal cost of Rs 30.During the period from June 1,2010 to May 31,2011, as many as 3562 BPL families in district Sirsa took benefit under the scheme by admitting themselves to various private hospitals for treatment. A sum of Rs 2.65 crore was incurred on this ambitious scheme of the government during this period. From June 1,2011 till date, 290 BPL persons had taken benefit of the indoor medicare provided by the specialist doctors under the scheme. Rs 20 lakh had been incurred on the treatment of these people.
Smart cards of 46511 persons had so far been prepared under the scheme in district Sirsa.Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 had been spent on the treatment of members of more than two dozen families under the scheme. Three dozen private hospitals had been empanelled in the district to implement the scheme smoothly.Dr H.S. Chopra of civil hospital had been made nodal officer for district Sirsa, Fatehabad and Hisar to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme.
