Sirsa (Haryana), Sept 11 :Lahore-based cricketer Mohd Khalil, may seen in action in the Indian Premier League this year. Former Pakistan Test cricketer Khalil is a member of the Lahore Lions squad which is competing in the ongoing inaugural Jannayak Ch Devi Lal International Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament being conducted at the CDL National Cricket Academy here. Lahore Lions have have made the semi-finals grade. Today the visitors had a rest day.
Lanky Khali said that "I am available to play in the Indian Premier League." Asked whether he had received any offer from Board of Control for Cricket in India- sponsored IPL or the Indian Cricket League, a venture of the Zee TV, Khalil said "If I get a chance, he would play in the Indian Premier League."
"I would prefer to represent Kolkata Knight Riders or any other team. I enjoy playing in India."
Khalil, who had played in Mohali (Punjab) in 2005, looked excited to play in the IPL.
SINGH IS KINNG FLOORS PAKISTANIS: Meanwhile, the Pakisitan cricketers went to watch an action-thrilled Indian movie ‘Singh is Kinng,’ starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif at Ohm Cine Garden, on the outskirts of Sirsa on the Delhi-Sirsa National Highway.
"The Indian films are fascinating and nowadays, the Indian movies are screened in Pakistan cinema halls. We all enjoy the Hindi films," said Lahore Lions manager Arshad Sharif and other members. "We are all comfortable here and enjoying the Indian hospitality. People aer very nice. We have the same culture, tradition, customs and language. So we feel at home in India." Sports exchange between the two countries would further cement relations.
The visitors rated the film as"thrilling, action-packed and entertaining."
However, the Lahore Lions Manager said that there journey to Sirsa by training was ‘tiring’ as it took 18 long hours to reach here from Atari by train.
SANJAY DUTT COMING: Sirsa city is humming with activities on the eve of the semi-finals as Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt is schedule to watch the proceedings. Comfirming this today, Dr Jai Parkash, Media In Charge, said that besides Sanjay Dutt, Beijing Olympics boxing bronze medalist Vijender Singh of Bhiwani will be the other star attraction of the day tomorrow.
