Chandigarh, March 25- The agitating Jats in Haryana have withdrawn their agitation late tonight following a meeting of their leaders with the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Jind.
In a statement issued here today, the Chief Minister said that those agitating have agreed to lift all blockades and dharnas with immediate effect. He said that it has also been decided to set up a Haryana Backward Classes Commission within a month. The Commission would consider the demand of communities of Roar,Jat, Jat Sikh,Tyagi,Bishnoi and any other community who wish to be under the ambit of the Backward Classes in the State. The President of Haryana Jat Arakshan Saniti, Mr Hawa Singh Sangwan, President of Benayan Khap, Dada Nafe Singh and representatives of other Khaps have thanked Chief Minister Mr Hooda for deciding to set up a Commission.
Perhaps, I was the only one to offer the reasons against Reservation for Jats, mentioned in the above-said messages of mine. That stand of mine has been now vindicated by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, vide news appearing in today’s papers.
Where are the claims now which would declare Bhupendra Singh Hooda as the leader of Jats in nthe above comments? Most of the people try to remain sycophants throughout their life. They never seem to hesitate in changing their side or their heroes.
My intervention dated 3 April, 2011 appears to have been ignored by all concerened, namely, the Government of Haryana, the Union Government, the university experts, the social avtivists, and the print and the electronic media, with the result that the same threats as pointed by me therein have surfaced before the nation for the second time.
I had raised quite a few points in my intervention dated 3 April, 2011, in connection with the last Jat Agitation started in 2011, again in the month of March, which concerned the lack of justification of the agiataion, the relative strength of Jat community as compared to all other communities of India, the mindset behind the starting the agiation, the improbability of the agiation having been controlled with the help of police and the army, the definite thteat to Indian democracy, in case it gets prolonged for an indefinite period, possiblity of jumping into the troubled waters by international super powers, in order spread their own hegemony and so on.
The said points still appear to be valid and relevant even in the present agitation. According to me, the points deserved to be sensibly and seriously considered first by the agiating Jats and then by all the political parties, the ggovernments of Haryana and the Union Government as also by the experts in the universities and social activists, if they really exist in India having the permanent interests of India and Indian composite society in their mind. But obviously the opportunity was lost perhaps in view of the policy of drift in the concerned circles.
It appears that Indian intelligentsia whose epicentre now lies in all powerful media, print and electronic, has gone either bankrupt or it has voluntarily compromised the real national interests in favour of naked selfish interests.
This is a problem which cannot be left to be dealt with the Haryana government alone for obvious reasons.
The natinoal stakes, in view of India being suurounded by some formidable enemies, are too high to be ignored by all concerned.
If Jats can be regarded as the backward, who else can be said to be forward? Brahmans are no where near them as afar as their presence in armed forces is concerned, The same ought to be true in case of police in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and UP. The present agitation appears to have been an indication of their excessive strength rather than that of their weakness. They seem to be conscious of the weakness of the institution of state itself in the matter of checking them about their possible excesses. Their agitation cannot be curbed even with the help of army and police because of the presence of their own brethren therein. If the agitation succeeds it is likely to threaten the very basis of democracy in India. Politically also there is no other community which can match them in any conceivable sense. If the country can be saved of the biggest future calamity it can be only the better sense of proportion within this community, since it does not appear to be in a mood to listen to any rational arguments offered by any other community. If India becomes unstable, it will mean sudden invitation to USA to “intervene” in the interest of restoring peace in South Asia.
Now time has come to think and decide on the basis of economic status of a family to give them booster dose not on the basis of caste and community, now Ch. Bhupinder Singh Hooda took a historical decision to process the demands of JAT’s along with many more farmers communities like Roar, Jat Sikh,Tyagi,Bishnoi and any other community who wish to be under the ambit of the Backward Classes in the State, great decision. Kadyan Khap International welcome this decision. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is in reference to the news We have accepted Jats as our leaders in Haryana since 1966 as they are very powerful community. Let JATS acept Ch.Bhupinder Singh Hooda as their leader who has proved his mettle in many respects.A very well deserved community to be given the status of backward in the strict sense of the concept. Just Avoid Them (JAT) is a cruel joke which cannot happen. Can it be in reservation policy which is eating into the social fabric of Indian society?
