Chandigarh, July 15: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has accused Hooda Government of pervasive corruption & nepotism in government appointments. In a press statement issued here today, INLD Secretary General and Rajya Sabha MP, Mr Ajay Singh Chautala charged the Haryana Government of deceiving the unemployed youth of Haryana and accused it of doing worst ever appointment scam in all the government job recruitment in last three & half years of Congress ‘misrule’.
In a startling disclosure, Mr Chautala issued another list of government officers packed with favourites & smacking of wide spread nepotism and corruption. He disclosed a list of persons, who are to be appointed soon by government as Assistant Town Planners (ATP), a Class one post in Town & Country Planning department of Haryana government. He said that ATP is important class one post and earlier its appointment were done by Haryana Public Service Commission only but the government has maneuvered all the norms & system to appoint its favourite candidates. A departmental committee has been formed to appoint its favorites as ATPs.
INLD MP said that posts of ATP were advertised in December 22, 2007 through various newspapers. The so called departmental committee conducted the sham exercise to ‘interview’ the candidates on April 28, 29 and May 5 & 6. He said that the list of ‘selected’ candidates has been finalized on the recommendations of family members of chief minister, ministers, and other politically affiliated people. Educational qualifications or real capabilities have no role in the selection of successful candidates, he added. What town planning could be expected of these ‘Town Planners’, whose selection is based on the acquaintance of certain politically influential people only, he further added.
Mr Chautala said that two Rohtak based Junior Engineers (JE), Mr Dharamvir Khatri & Mr J.P. Khasa are being selected on the recommendations of Mrs Asha Hooda, the wife of chief minister. Both these JEs are placed in Gurgaon these days. Another JE Mr Subhash Sharma, working at Panchkula, is being appointed on the recommendations of former minister Mr Vinod Sharma.
Abohar (Punjab) based Mr Karamvir Jhanjhadia is tipped to be appointed as ATP on the reference of chief minister’s son in law, Mr Kunal Bhadu (Abohar). Three year experience is essential qualification for appointment of ATP, but Mr Jhanjhdia’s experience certificate is also said to be doubtful.
Mr Sanjay Narang(Yamunanagar based candidate) & Mr Ved Parkash Shehrawat are being selected on the recommendations of Yamunanagar MLA & central minister Rao Inderjit Singh respectively. Preparations are on to select niece of Senior Town Planner, Ms Poonam Poonia on the recommendation of Hisar Congress MP, Mr Jai Parkash. Mr Arvind Dhull is being selected on the reference of finance minister, Mr Birender Singh & another candidate from Punjab, Mr R.S. Bath has recommendation from a senior officer of the department. This officer is not only a senior officer but also directly associated with the departmental ‘Committee’.
Mr Chautala said that another candidate Ms Vanita Sharma is slated to be placed at first place in the waiting list, thanks to the ‘blessings’ from Mr Vinod Sharma. However Mr Sharma is putting pressure to put her in the selected list. Two other ‘recommended’ candidates working as JE at Panchkula Mr Mandeep & Mr Bansal may find place in waiting list as some senior officer is lobbying for them.
Mr Naresh Kumar and JE Mr Mohan Singh have been recommended by minister of state for Tourism, Ms Kiran Chaudhary & state Congress president, Mr Phul Chand Mullana respectively for Backward class quota, are almost sure to be ‘selected’, INLD MP said. Lady Draftsman, Mrs Laali working at Panchkula, may find a place in waiting list on the recommendation of Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Chander Mohan, he added.
In Scheduled Caste quota, Mr Suriender Shahrawat(working in HUDA) & Mr Desraj are all set to be selected due to recommendations from chief minister’s son & Congress MP, Mr Deepinder Hooda’s & state Electricity minister Mr Ranndip Singh Surjewala. Another SC candidate Mr Om Parkash may find place in waiting list of SC category on the recommendation of minister of state, Mrs Savitri Jindal. He said that no posting is being done for ex-servicemen quota as no ‘recommended candidate’ has reached the government.
Senior INLD leader said that this whole expose has exposed the fraud being out to unemployed youth of the state under the guise of job selections. He said that Congress government should understand that youth of the state would teach a befitting lesson to it in the oncoming ‘Lok Sabha’ elections.
