SIRSA, SEPT 6 :Propped up by a brilliant 65-ball 77 helped Indian Navy beat Life Insurance Corporation XI six runs in the JCD International Twenty20 Cricket League at the JCD National Academy Stadium here today.
After winning the toss, Indian Navy batted first and made 147 for 5 in 20 overs. Yashpal Singh and Sanjeev Mishra (not out 26) were associated in a 46-run partnership. Jasbir Singh made 15. Rohit got two wickets for 33 runs.
In reply LIC could garner 135 for 7 in allotted overs. Varun Kumar was their main scorer with a hurricane 47 in 30 balls. Michael Vishal remained not out on 24 and Shiva Kant Shukla contributed 25.
Right arm leg spinner Amit Kumar (3 for 12) and right arm medium fast Narnder Kumar (2 for 21) were the successful bowlers for Indian Navy.
Yashpal Singh of Navy was declared man of the match for his authoritative innings.
