Dr.Avnish Jolly,Chandigarh, June 18, 2008 :According to press release issued by Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) they sought resignation from Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda for complete law & order failure in the state.
Reacting to the reported bribing of ADGP(CID) by fake Doctor Sandeep Sharma for getting police protection & recent spate of police atrocities like Kurukshetra’s Bohali Panch suicide case, Sarita rape case, INLD state president Mr Ashok Arora said that the incidents have proved the total collapse of law & order situation in Haryana and chief minister & ADGP(CID) has retained no moral right to continue in their posts. He said that Mr Hooda has dual responsibility for maintaining law & order of the state as he is state’s home minister apart being CM. He said that the people of the state have lost faith in the state law enforcement machinery but Mr Hooda is shamelessly sticking to his chair.
INLD state president said that reported bribing of ADGP(CID) Mr Paramvir Rathi is a very grave issue and deserve detailed investigation. He said that unbiased & fair probe is possible only if Mr Rathi is removed from this sensitive post. He said that incident of provision of police protection for a fake doctor has proved how competently and efficiently the police & CID departments are performing. He said that this is not an isolated bribing incident but just a tip of ice burg.
Mr Arora said that Sarita case and the more recent Bohalli panch Mr Ravinder Kumar’s suicide has exposed the inhuman & brutal face of Haryana police. He said that Mr Ravinder Kumar’s 12 page suicide note is sufficient to show the cruel attitude of Haryana police which understand the language of currency notes only.
Mr Arora said that the criminals & corrupt police officers are being protected by the political bosses. A vicious police-politician-criminal nexus has been developed in the state, which is not a good sign for the democratic system and the civil society, he said. He said that the situation is worsening day by day and the situation has become so bad that the people fear approaching the police even for filing their complaints.
INLD leader said that Mr Hooda has started a new trend of forwarding all sensitive cases to CBI so as to keep himself away from political implications. He said that it also indicate that even chief minister and the government lost faith in the police’s efficiency to perform its duties. While referring cases like Gohana fire episode, Baljit murder case, Lara murder case, Controversial death of two Faridabad sisters, Pehowa’s family suicide case, Kidney case, ACP Rajbir murder case, Sarita rape & suicide case, Mr Arora said that government is forwarding every second case to CBI but in many cases CBI is yet to initiate its investigation.
Mr Arora said that robberies, looting incidents, murders, abductions and ransom calls have become order of the day and part of daily news items. Abduction & ransom calls were not heard in the state earlier but they have now become big industry.
