Chandigarh, September 8 – In Haryana, the concept of salary has been introduced for the first time for the Members of the Legislative Assembly and now they would get Rs.55,000 instead of Rs.35,500 earlier.
An announcement to this effect was made by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala in the session of the State Assembly here today.
The pension admissible to ex-legislators has also been increased to over Rs.20,000. The state legislators would now get Rs.10,000 as salary. Sanctuary Allowance of legislators would be increased from Rs.3000 to Rs.5000 per month, Constituency Allowance from Rs.15,000 to Rs.20,000 per month, Office Allowance from Rs.2500 to Rs.5000 per month, Daily Allowance from Rs.1000 to Rs.1500 and Secretariat Allowance from Rs.5000 to Rs.10000 per month. The rate of mileage has also been increased from Rs.12 to Rs.15 per kilometer. In addition, the petty grant would be Rs. one lakh per year.
The pension of the legislators has also been raised from Rs.5000 (plus Dearness Pension and Dearness allowance) to Rs.7500 (plus DP and DA). Thus ex-MLAs would now get over Rs.20,000 per month as pension.
