CS Kanwar,Kurukshetra, Janurary 9 : RAPID (Regular Appraisal of Programme Implementation in District) Assessment of all Health facilities was conducted in the District Kurukshetra in District Hospital (DH), 5 Community Health Centers (CHC), 16 Primary Health Centers (PHC) and Selected Sub Centers (SC) to assess and identify the quantity and quality issues involved in provision of health care in the District. 30 teams comprising of State Health Officers, Consultants, External Monitors from PGIMS- Rohtak and Chandigarh, visited the health facilities and conducted detailed review of all healthcare services. A meeting was held to discuss the issues identified, which was chaired by Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Mission Director, NHM (National Health Mission), Haryana, Nikhil Gajraj, Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra, Mr. Sanjeev Goyal, Director Finance and Accounts, NHM, Haryana, Dr. Yash Garg, ADC Kurukshetra, Dr. Shiv Kumar, Civil Surgeon, Kurukshetra, State Health Officers, External Monitors, District officers from other department and all health officers from District kurukshetra were also present in the meeting.
This exercise has been planned for the entire state of Haryana in a phased manner to ensure that all the health facilities and services provided by Health Department, Haryana are being utilized by the community. Kurukshetra is the seventeenth district after Panipat, Mewat, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Narnaul, Palwal, Jind, Jhajjar, Rewari, Yamuna Nagar,Ambala, Sonipat, Karnal, Hisar, Fatehabad and Rohtak. Health Department is committed to provide quality health care services to the people of Haryana. The teams visited the health facilities and submitted a detailed report to Dr. Shiv Kumar, Civil Surgeon, Kurukshetra. Teams monitored all the Health Programme as well as did hand holding of the Para Medical staff in terms of Ante Natal check-ups, institutional deliveries and postpartum care. Teams interacted with the community as well to make them aware about the health services provided by the health department, Haryana.
Mission Director, NRHM, Haryana reviewed the report submitted by the teams and said that “We have to deliver for the women. The facilities and services at district hospital, community health center are good. Labour rooms at health facilities are maintaining the standards. But definitely some gaps are there which needs to be plugged in to ensure reduction in Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR)”.
Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra said, “It is also being ensured that all the benefits provided under Janani Suraksha Yojna (JSY) and Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakarm (JSSK) are reaching the beneficiaries in a hassle free and timely manner. JSSK ensures free delivery, free drugs for mother and new born child, blood transfusion, free referral transport, free diet and 48 hours stay at health facility in case of normal delivery. Further all the health care facilities would be ensured with electricity & water connection. ”.
Deputy Commissioner further assured the houses that all the infrastructural gaps will be filled on top priority in consultation with other departments.
The National Rural Health Mission team has further decided to conduct the review of action taken in next month and compliance shall be taken. Any inaction in this regard, shall be viewed very seriously and stern action shall be taken.
Civil Surgeon, Kurukshetra assured to the authorities that Health Department team is committed to provide quality and timely services to the community and identified gaps will be bridge on priority basis at Kurukshetra.
