Chandigarh, Feb 10 – The Union Poverty Alleviation and Urban Development Minister Km. Shelja said that the Youth Congress Organisation of Haryana has become more responsive and active. She further said that it had directly associated with the All India Congress Party General Secretary and dynamic youth leader, Mr. Rahul Gandhi.
Km. Shelja was speaking at a ‘Yuva Sammelan’ organized by Haryana Youth Congress at Congress Bhawan Chandigarh here today. The function was organized by Haryana Youth Congress President Rao Chirnjeev in which thousands of Youth Party workers from all over the state took a solemn pledge to strengthen the youth congress party.
Union Minister said that the youth congress party workers are very lucky as they have got the leadership of Mr. Rahul Gandhi and a change was clearly visible in the vision of the youth . She termed the golden age for the youth congress as Mr. Rahul Gandhi had made strenuous efforts to make congress party a vibrant and strong. She asserted that this step would prove a boon for the youth and it would have far reaching consequences. She exhorted them that they should work with utmost dedication and commitment and imbibe the party discipline.
While taking a dig, on the opposition parties Km. Shelja said that our National leader like All India Congress Party President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Man Mohan Singh and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had the clean image in the politics and it was beneficial for us. She further asked the party workers that an introspection and efforts should be made to make youth congress more powerful. She further said that congress party had always advocated to have a debate on every issue so that people could know the truth. She said that the party was also ready to debate in parliament also.
Haryana Pradesh Congress Party President Mr. Phool Chand Mullana maintained that Youth congress has provide a better platform to create new leadership. He reminded that he himself had remained the block youth congress president in 1964. He stressed the need to maintain better co-ordination in the congress party and the government. He was of the view that struggle was eminent to get desired results. He further said that the youth should associate themselves with the problems of the people and tried their best to solve them in priority basis with a view to get better results.
Mr. Mullana urged the party workers that they should gave wide publicity to the policies and programmes which had been launched by the Haryana Government which included best land acquisition policy in the country, allotment of 100 Sq. yard plots to the poor sections of the society and free water connections to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes families in the state. He stressed the need that efforts should be made to solve the problem of the people with the active co-ordination of the government. He assured the youth congress party president that Haryana congress woutd provide all sort of help to them.
The Haryana Youth Congress President Rao Chirnjeev said that youth had ample power to gave new direction to the country. He maintained that the Mr. Rahul Gandhi had recognized the power of the youth and this was the only reason that this youth sammelan was being organized on his directions. He said that with the blessings of the Chief Minister the youth congress party would get a new energy in the state.
While referring the future activities of youth congress, Rao said that a programme ‘Chalo Panchayat Ke Aur’ was launched by the youth congress and it had been widely appreciated by Mr. Rahul Gandhi. He announced that a youth festival would be organized at Kurukshetra to motivate the youth about the rich culture heritage of the State. He also announced that a programme ‘Chalo Chaupal Ke Aur’ would also be launched in the state soon in which people would be apprised with the innovative policies and programme of the Haryana Government. He sought the unstinted cooperation of youth party workers to give new directions to the youth congress.
The in-charge of Haryana Youth Congress Party Ms. Usha Naidu said that discipline was the main criteria in the congress party organization. She said that the central leadership had formulated an ambitious programme for the youth party workers and they would get the a golden chance to make progress in their life by the dint of hard work and dedication. She said that their services would also be recognized by the party. She said that the programme ‘Chalo Chaupal Ke Aur’ would prove a boon for the people as their problems would be sorted out. She assured that the membership drive of the congress party would also be launched soon through out the country.
The Haryana Finance Minsiter Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav said that former Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was the main instrument behind the reducing the voter age from 21 to 18 years and he had also introduced Information Technology and Communication Policy in the country to motivate the youth. He further said that similarly Mrs. Sonia Gandhi was also the main inspiration behind implementing the Right to Information Act in the country. He further said that Mr. Rahul Gandhi had also introduced direct elections first time in the country for the youth congress party functionaries.
Capt. Yadav exhorted the youth that they should wage a crusade against the social evils like girls foeticide, de-adiction, early marriage and they should organise blood donation camps. He advised them that they should mingle with the common man and try to share their grievances also. He said that he had won six consecutive times as he had always prefer to remain among the people of his constituency.
Member of Parliament Mr. Birender Singh said that only those workers would succeded in the life who would work with honesty and dedication. He advised them that they should follow the principals of the congress party and work selflessly. He said that real congress party workers never hanker after the publicity of their name. He lashed out on Bhartiya Janta Party and said that BJP was the responsible and main root of corruption in the country. He said that BJP had refused to remove Karnakta Chief Minster Mr. Yadurappa on the corruption charges while congress party had removed Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Chauhan and Union Communication Minister Mr. D. Raja. Although, no charges had proved so far against them.
The PWD (B&R) Minister Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the youth congress party workers should propogate the ten point progamme which would be helpful for them. He also stressed the need for better coordination among the party organization and Haryana Government so that desired results could be get.
On the occasion, Agriculture Minister, Mr. Paramvir Singh, working HPCC President Kuldeep Sharma, MLA Anil Dhantodi, former president of Youth Congress Chakarvarti Sharma and Sanjay Chhoker and AICC youth general secretary, Virender Rathor also spoke on the occasion.
Those who were present which included Chief Parliamentry Secretaries Mr. Jaleeb Khan and Mr. Jaibir Balmiki, representative of Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha and panchayats of youth congress and a number of office bearers of youth congress.
