Chandigarh, Dec 26- Haryana Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced a number of measures for the welfare of workers and residents of industrial town of Faridabad. These included sanction of Rs.2082 crore project to connect YMCA, Ballabgarh with metro rail, Rs.2800 crore approved under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, development of slums and a new 50-bed hospital in sector 55-56 of Faridabad and survey for regularization of unauthorized colonies. He also announced that industrial workers would get payment of their wages through cheques to ensure disbursement of minimum wages. A Chhat Puja Ghat would also be set up in NIT area in view of the sentiments of people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh working in this industrial town.
The Chief Minister who was addressing a largely attended public meeting at NIT Faridabad today, was greeted with loud cheers when he announced the above mentioned measures. He said that with a view to restore the lost glory of this famous industrial town, a number of steps were being taken. He said that an Industrial Model Town was being set up at Faridabad and various development schemes costing Rs 850 crore have been sanctioned for Faridabad. Since the formation of Congress Government in Haryana in 2005, three times more amount that is Rs.1513.76 crore has been spent on development of Faridabad as compared to Rs. 501.34 lakh by the previous Government.
Mr Hooda said that his Government laid stress on power generation during the first tenure of his Government and now special stress was being laid on water conservation. Efforts would be made to provide water in all the areas of the State and to ensure its optimum utilisation.
He said that Bharatiya Janata Party did not let the winter session of the Lok Sabha run due to its obstinacy. Bills in the interest of the poor and farmers were to be adopted in this session. The country was marching ahead on the path of development under the guidance of UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi and able leadership of the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who is an eminent economist and is known for his honesty in the world. He saved our economy in the time of economic depression when the economies of the developed countries like America were staggered. It was the result of the policies of Congress party which believed in the politics of development, whereas opposition parties indulged in the politics of selfishness.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr Phool Chand Mullana, President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, said that Haryana Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda was working for the welfare of all sections of the society. Inclusive development in the urban and rural areas of the State was taking place.
Expressing his gratitude to the Chief Minister, Pt. Shiv Charan Lal Sharma, State Minister for Revenue and MLA from NIT Faridabad, said that Mr Hooda was the real well wisher of the poor and the working class. Mr Sharma drew the attention of the Chief Minister to the various problems being faced by his Constituency and also put up the demands of the area.
Mr Mahender Partap Singh, Power and Industries Minister, Ms Sharda Rathore, Chief Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Mr Anand Kaushik also addressed the rally.
