31 Aug : Haryana Tourism is celebrating 35th year of its existence on 1st September. Today 15% discount in food would be given to the Senior Citizens and 10% discount in food would be given to the guests/visitors visiting any of the Tourist Resorts of Haryana Tourism in the State of Haryana. Welcome banners have been put up at all the resorts and Gift Packs etc. would be given to children. Further, cultural programmes and competitions for students have been planned at various resorts. Food Festival is being organized at Badkhal Lake and tree Plantation and Senior Citizens Meet etc. have been planned at Magpie, Faridabad.
Haryana Tourism started with the concept of providing neat and clean lodging and boarding facilities in the year 1974.. Over the years, it has earned a name in Highway Tourism, Recreation Tourism & Heritage Tourism. It has also successfully launched the concept of Farm Tourism. Similarly, Haryana Tourism has also earned a name in Adventure Tourism and Golf Tourism. It is also pioneer in organizing of various fairs and festivals for promotion of the art & crafts and culture of the State. The annual Surajkund Crafts Mela has helped in the promotion of Handlooms and Handicrafts.
The official spokesman informed that Haryana Tourism has been given the “National Award for Promotion of MICE in Public Sector” by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, New Delhi. For promotion of human resource development (HRD), Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) has been set up at Kurukshetra. The Food Craft Institute at Faridabad has been upgraded to the level of IHM.
