Chandigarh , January 14-Haryana State Haj Committee has decided that those desirous of going on Haj would have to send in their applications between March 1 and 31,2012 and only those would be able to apply, who have valid international passport. Those of 70 years age and above will be allowed to take one person with them.
These decisions were taken in a meeting of the Haryana State Haj Committee presided by its Chairman and MLA Mr Aftab Ahmad today.
While reviewing the preparations for ensuing Haj Yatra in 2012, it was observed that wiuth a view to construct Haj Bhawan in Gurgaon, the possession of the plot would be given to the Committee within this month. For deciding about the design of Haj Bhawan, a Committee of the members would be formed and it would visit Lucknow, Tamil Nadu and Mumbai to study the designs and drawings of the Haj Bhawans there and would give its suggestions.
Draft rules of the State Haj Committee were also circulated among the members present in the meeting. They were asked to study the draft rules and give their suggestions. The Committee will discuss these rules in the next meeting before their approval.
Out of 14 members of the Committee, nine members including the Chairman, Mr Aftab Ahmad were present in the meeting today. They included Altaf Hussain Advocate, Maulana Mohd. Khalid Kasmi, Mufti Zahid Hussain, Maulana Sher Mohd. Amim, Inam Ali Ansari, Smt. Mohmaddi, Dr. Halimuddin Khan and Abdul Gaffar Quraishi. Mr Muhammad Zakariya, Superintendent (Haj), Haryana Home Department was also present in the meeting.
