Chandigarh November 2- Haryana Police has initiated investigation in a case of misleading the people on phone for their having won fake lotteries carrying a hefty prize money.
The Haryana Police has registered a case against some unidentified persons on the complaint of one Mr. Sunil Malik, a resident of Bhim Sain Colony, Ballabgarh in district Faridabad yesterday as he had received such an SMS informing him of winning Rs five lakh pounds in a lottery as his phone number had been selected for the same.In turn, the culprits had extracted about Rs 64 lakh from the complainant thus cheating him.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that the complainant was asked to submit his email-id which he submitted and was told that a person named Mike Brown is coming to RBI, New Delhi along with his Demand Draft, therefore the complainant has to deposit Rs 9700 as file charges in the ICICI bank account number 129901500218 of Rinhor Awungshi. On June 20, 2012, the complainant deposited the said amount and then he was asked to check his bank account through an SMS. The complainant was again asked to deposit Rs 2382 in ICICI Bank which he deposited on June 22, 2012 in bank account number 645501506258 of Mr. Mangesh Anurag Ghorpade. Similarly, he was again asked to deposit Rs 30,000 in the bank account of Mr. Mangesh Anurag Ghorpade which the complainant deposited on June 23. He was asked to deposit Rs 1.35 lakh in “And V. S Enterprise” account number 157905500006 of ICICI bank on June 26 for Domorge code. In this way the complainant got only fake consolation of getting five lakh pounds.
The spokesman said that the complainant had received phone calls from phone numbers 09867679288, 09769750330 and 1165039751 and deposited a total of about Rs 64 lakh in the said bank accounts.
