Haryana , April 5– A ten-member delegation of the Haryana Assembly, led by the Speaker, Mr Kuldeep Sharma, reached Pakistan on a four-day visit today.
Mr Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, Punjab (Pakistan) Assembly, received the delegation at Wagha border and presented the leader with a bouquet. Provincial Minister Ch Abdul Ghafoor besides many members of the Provincial Assembly, were also present.
Talking to media persons, Mr Kuldeep Sharma said that they had come to Pakistan on the invitation of Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan. With the exchange of delegations, people on both sides will get an opportunity to interact and exchange their views.
He said that the welcome accorded to the delegation reflected the love between the peoples of two countries. “We have brought message of love and brotherhood of Indian people and the issues between the two countries can be resolved only through talks. The visit will help promote harmonious relationship between the two countries”, he said.
Mr Sharma extended an invitation to a delegation of the Lahore Provincial Assembly members to visit Haryana.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said that the exchange of parliamentary delegations would provide an opportunity to the people of the two countries to come closer. He suggested that those above 60 years of age on both sides should be exempted from visa formalities. He reciprocated the sentiments of love expressed by the Haryana delegation.
