KANWAR , Kurukshetra, December 14 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that ‘ government is filling more than 15,000 vacancies to clear the backlog of posts meant of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes in the state. These posts included 8781 of Scheduled Castes and 6260 of Backward Classes would be advertised in next month’.
He was addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stones of Dr. Ambedkar Bhawan and Hostel at here last evening. He also annoucned to give discretionary grant of Rs. 21 lakh for construction of the building of the Bhawan.
While paying rich tributes to Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Mr. Hooda said that Dr. Ambedkar had raised the voice of poor people and had ensured equal rights to them in our constitution. He struggled to promote self respect among poorest of poor during his entire life.
Calling upon the people to provide better opportunites of education to their wards, he said that ‘today world is shrinking at a very fast pace. Only those society, state or nation could progress in present era which would lead in education. Describing the education is the only key to success, Mr. Hooda said that State Government had launched many schemes in education sector especially for Scheduled Castes students. Haryana is the first state which had implemented a unique scholarship scheme for Scheduled Castes students under which children are getting scholarship right from the first class. Presnetly, more than 19.70 lakh stduents are getting benefit of the scheme’.
He said that Congress Party as well as Haryana Government has same policy to ameliorate the socio-economiic status of poor people. He said that many schemes had been launched by the government for welfare of people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Casses. He said that under Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Vivah Shagun Yojana, a sum of Rs.297 crore had been released so far among more than 1.75 lakh beneficiaires.
Referring to theannouncementsmade by him at Gohana Rally, he said that a sum of Rs.400 crore would be spent to repair and renovate of chaupals of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes in urban and rural areas. Similarly, a one time settlement scheme would be implemented to waive off entire amount of interest on loan taken by members belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes who have taken loans under different schemes from Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation. It would benefit 1.64 lakh persons. In addition, wages of 11000 Safai Karamcharis appointed by the present state government would also be increased from Rs.4848 to Rs.8100 per month.
Speaking on this occasion, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Minister Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal thanked the Chief Minister for always supporting the cause of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. She said that efforts would be made to provide grant to Dr. Ambedkar Hostel under Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojna.
Mrs. Bhukkal said that Chief Minister in real terms is realising the dreams of leader of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and late Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi by ensuring food, cloth and houses to poor people in the state. Under Priyadarshini Awas Yojna, a sum of Rs.1385 crore had been earmarked to ensure house to all poor. Under Food Security Bill launched by Union Government, subsidized foodgrain is being provided to poor in the state.
Mrs. Bhukkal also urged the people to provide education to their children and it would be a great tribute to Dr. Ambedkar. She also announced grant of Rs.five lakh for construction of the Ambedkar Bhawan and Hostel.
Member of Parliament Mr. Naveen Jindal also spoke on this occasion. He annoucned to providie grant of Rs.10 lakh on this occasion.

Ambedkar Welfare Society Dr. Ram Bhagat Langyan, former MLAs like Sahab Singh Saini, Ramesh Gupta, Banta Ram Balmiki, Ran Singh, Lehri Singh and other prominent persons were also present on this occasion.
