Nov 1 – On the occasion of 46th Haryana Day, the state has been given a gift in the form of a new Shatabdi Train to run through the State as Ministry of Railways has given approval to the new Shatabdi Train to run between New Delhi and Ludhiana via Rohtak, Jind, Narwana, Jhakal and Nabha. This would be the first Shatabdi Train on Rohtak-Jind route and run from November 4.
It may be recalled that Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda had written a letter for the approval of this train and Member of Parliament, Mr Deepender Singh Hooda had also been maintaing liaison for the last few months with various departments of Railways for its early approval.
Mr Deepender Singh Hooda said that after the formation of Congress Government in the state, several efforts were being made to upgrade the rail facilities and many trains were introduced in new areas. The Shatabdi Train between Delhi and Ludhiana passing through towns of Haryana would prove a major achievement in the extension and upgradation of rail facilities. The first stop of the train would be Rohtak. The train would benefit those commuting between Rohtak and Delhi. He said that efforts would be made for a stop at Jind so that people of that area would also be benefitted.
Mr Deepender Singh Hooda is excited on this new achievement and would participate on the flag off ceremony of this train on November 4, despite an injury to his leg and would travel in this train from Rohtak, his Parliamentary Constituency. He had written to the Chairman of the Railway Board requesting Shatabdi for this route in the interest of the people. He had highlighted that no Shatabdi was running on this route and people needed one such train. Delhi and Ludhaian were mega business centres having many Central and State government industrial units. It would also provide relief to the people commuting daily to Delhi and NCR for work in the offices of Delhi Government, Central government and also private sector. The New Shatabdi Train would be a boon to the business fraternity of the towns.
