Chandigarh, October 8: Haryana state unit of Congress party received a major jolt today, when Panchkula Zila Parishad president Umesh Sood along with hundreds of supporters announced their decision to join Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). Addressing a press conference, Mr Sood said that INLD was the only party which give due honour & respect to party workers. He said that officialdom is calling all the shots in the states and public representatives have no respect in Hooda government. Congress workers also facing disrespect from the bureaucracy every other day, he added.
Mr Sood announced joining in INLD in the presence of former INLD state president and Disciplinary Committee chairman Sher Singh Barshyami and District Panchkula INLD president Pradeep Chaudhary. On this occasion Barshyami welcomed Sood and his suppoters in the party and assured due respect. Earlier Mr Sood and supporters met INLD president Mr Om Parkash Chautala and expressed their willingness to join the party.
Panchkula Zila Parishad president said that his family has been associated with Congress party from many generations but the ridicule for the elected public representatives has forced him to join INLD.
Mr Sood disclosed that he has a threat to his life from Panchkula DC and ADC. I will soon report to the police, he further added. He said that Panchkula administration could implicate in some false cases.
