Chandigarh Dec 6 –The Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, has said that the Gurukul system of education has played a great role in building human force in keeping with the requirements of the nation since ancient times.
Addressing the students at the Swaran Jayanti Mahasammelan of Gurukul Aryanagar, held in Hisar today, he said that India is famous for its old spiritual culture and value system. The 21st century India can be build only through the Gurukul system of education. Quoting the example of Swami Vivekananda, he said that such education system was vital for building the nation as envisioned by our freedom fighters.
The Governor announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the construction of Gurukul hostel and held out the assurance that the government would provide unstinted support in imparting culture-based education to the students.
Later, he presented a cheque of Rs 1.25 lakh to the Principal, Gurukul Aryanagar, Hisar, Aacharya Ramswaroop Shastri, for his outstanding contribution in promoting the Gurukul system of education.
The Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, the Agriculture Minister, Mr Om Prakash Dhankhar, and Sikar MP and President, Gurukul Aryanagar, Swami Sumedhanand, also addressed the Mahasammelan. Those present included MLA Hisar, Dr. Kamal Gupta, and a number of dignitaries.
