Gurgaon , May 1 – Gurgaon district administration has started home delivery of Registration Certificates (RC) of vehicles and Driving Licenses (DL) through Speed Post in Gurgaon sub division area from today. The applicants will have to pay a fee of Rs 20 extra for this new facility.
While stating this today, an official spokesman said that the applicants who apply for RC of their vehicle or for DL from today, that is, May 1 will get their respective documents at their home. For starting this new service, the department of India Post has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Information Technology Society (DITS). A separate counter is being set up in the E-Disha center of Mini Secretariat where an official of India Posts department would sit. The consumers would pay a meager amount of Rs 20 extra to DITS for availing this service. Initially, areas falling in Gurgaon tehsil and Manesar tehsil would be covered.
He said that at the time of dispatch of the document intimation would be sent to the applicant through SMS that RC or DL has been prepared and it would be sent through speed post to residence of the applicant.
The Superintendent of Post Offices, Gurgaon Division, Mr Jagdish Chander said that department of posts would take the responsibility and deliver the documents in time to the applicants which would save time and money. He said that in case of any laxity on the part of any postman in delivery of the document, he will be suspended immediately because the documents are of utmost importance. Presently, about 250 to 300 SMS are sent daily regarding the preparation of RCs or DL and the applicants were informed to collect the same.
