Chandigarh, Aug 10-Haryana Cabinet, which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, here today decided to grant Group-A status to Government College Lecturers who are in the pay band-3 of Rs 15600-39100 with the grade pay of Rs 7000 with immediate effect.
The Cabinet gave its approval to the proposal of School Education Department regarding amendment in Haryana Primary Education (Group C)-District Cadre Service Rules, 1994.
This decision settles the long pending demand of lecturers of government colleges.
The University Grant Commission has placed the post of college lecturers in Central Universities in Group-A. Government of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh has also granted Group-A status to their college lecturers. Taking cognizance of this development in neighbouring States, the Chief Minister had announced grant of Group A status to college lecturers in Haryana. The decision of the Cabinet is expected to benefit about 17,000 lecturers in the State and comes in force with immediate effect.
As per amendment, the entry level qualification for the recruitment of JBT teachers has been amended from BA to10 +2 and Hindi/Sanskrit up to Matric or higher qualification provided they have cleared State Teachers Eligibility Test.
It also gave its approval to the proposal of the Agriculture Department regarding grant of Class-II status to Agriculture Development Officers,Block Agriculture Officers,Technical Assistants of the Agriculture Department and Horticulture Development Officers,Technical Assitants,Asstt.Project Officers and Demonstrators of the Horticulture Department.
The Cabinet gave its approval to the amendment in the Haryana Advocate General Office Ministerial (Group C) Service Rules, 1981 to include the posts of Personal Assistant and other posts in these rules. It also approved the proposal of Transport Department regarding the amendment in the Haryana Transport Department, Haryana Roadways (Group D) Service Rules, 1998 for the post of announcer.
