President Pratibha Patil has said empowerment of women is important to create stable societies in the world.
“A women’s intrinsic nature is that of giving and nurturing. These qualities are very important to create stable societies,” she said after launching the platinum jubilee celebrations of the ‘Brahma Kumaris’ in Gurgaon.
“I have always been a proponent of women’s empowerment, as I believe that they have immense potential and channelising their energies will build more peaceful societies,” the President said.Patil said “inclusive growth” is most essential for a country’s overall progress.
“… progress should touch every section of society. Inclusive growth is very important in building an equitable, stable and sustainable base for the growth of the nation,” she said, adding often differences are created by lack of understanding and misperceptions.
“We need to bridge these divides and necessarily through dialogue…Dialogue produces confluence of the various streams of thought, opinions and aspirations,” Patil said.
The ‘Brahma Kumaris’, one of the largest all-women organisations in the world, is celebrating 75 years of its establishment.
The celebrations will be held across 137 centres of the organisation across the globe. Haryana Governor Jaggannath Pahadia and Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda were also present during the event.
