Chandigarh, Dec 10- Haryana Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to get developmental works of Rs 300 crore done in Ratia assembly constituency so as to give impetus to development in the area.
While addressing a huge “Dhanyavad Rally” in Ratia to thank the people for electing Congress candidate Mr Jarnail Singh in the recent bye election after 29 years, Mr Hooda said that by voting in favour of Congress in the bye election, they have got two Legislators, one is the Congress candidate Mr Jarnail Singh and the other is he himself thus assuring them of massive development in the area. Mr. Hooda said that he had not been to Ratia during the recent bye-election to either win or defeat anyone. He said that he had come with the motive to win the hearts of the people and he has succeeded.
While reminding the people that INLD leader Mr Om Prakash Chautala had said that the result of Ratia bye-election would give rise to a new politics and the party which would win from Ratia would form the next Government in the State, Mr Hooda said that he fully supported what Mr Chautala had said and now the Congress would make the next Government in the State. He appreciated that the people of Ratia have voted in favour of honesty and development by rejecting the politics of nepotism and loot. He pointed out that there had been politicians who, with their narrow mindedness remained indulged in safeguarding the interests of their own families. Had Ratia not been a reserve constituency, a son of Mr. Om Parkash Chautala would have contested from here as they never thought beyond their own family. Similar was the case of Haryana Janhit Congress (BL). They remained busy in safe guarding the interests of Mr. Bhajjan Lal, Mrs. Jasma Devi, Mr. Kuldeep Bishnoi and now of his wife. In Fatehabad in would be their relative Mr. Dura Ram. He thanked the people of Ratia for rejecting such politics of family affairs.
While accepting the demands put forward by MLA Mr Jarnail Singh and supported by MP Mr Ashok Tanwar for the area, the Chief Minister looked very enthusiastic and he announced to give Rs. 20 crore for development of villages, Rs. 35 crore for construction of Godown of 20,000 metric tonnes capacity and construction of another new Anaj Mandi over an area of 35 acres. He said that Rs five crore would be given for beatification of Ratia town where a park would also be constructed and the Municipality would have its own building. Rs 17 crore would be spent to setup a 60-bed hospital and open primary health centers in villages of Mehmda, Allika, Aherva and Hasanga.
Mr. Hooda also announced to spend Rs.14 crore for promotion of education by opening a government college for women, a center of DIET and a public library and an ITI at village Jakhan Dadi. He also announced to get a modern stadium constructed at Ratia at a cost of Rs. one crore to provide sports infrastructure in the area. While referring to the issue of drinking water supply in the area, Mr. Hooda said that Rs seven crore would be spent for the purpose. It would include augmentation of drinking water supply scheme for three villages at Bahmanwala at cost of Rs 1.30 crore. An independent water works based on canal water would be constructed at village Hukamavali at cost of Rs 1.10 crore and similar water works would be constructed at village Hanspur at a cost of Rs 1.40 crore. He said that another water works based on canal water supply would be constructed at village Bharpur at cost of Rs1.14 crore. He announced scheme for improving water supply in villages of Luthera and Kharati Khera. Rs 15 lakh would be spent to set up tube well based water works at Khera and Pandari, he added.
He said that Rs 51.72 crore would be spent to improve supply of electricity in the area by constructing a 220 KV substation at Hukamvali, a 132 KV substation at Bhatukhurd and 33 KV substation at Ratia. He also announced a special package for Dhanis of Ratia constituency announcing that those seeking connection of electricity in a Dhani would have to pay only five per cent of the cost, whereas rest of the expenditure would be borne by the government.
He announced construction of roads between Laduwass and Bhimra at Punjab boarder, Nakhatia to Rata Tiba, Kherati Khera to Akanvali and Laduwass to Akademi. As many as 19 roads transferred from Agricultural Marketing Board to Public Works ( Building and Roads) Department having a length of 64 KM would be repaired at cost Rs seven crore and all these works of roads would cost Rs nine crore. He said that the project of roads of Marketing Board would involve expenditure of another Rs nine crore and involve seven schemes. These included construction of roads from Ratia to bypass Budlada, Kamana to Ratangarh, Kamana to Bhundardwas, Sukhmanpur to Chandokalan, Mehmara to Badalgarh, Khumbar to Nakhata and Jalopur to Rata Khera.
Mr. Hooda said that Rs. 66 crore would be spent to improve irrigation facilities and undertake scheme for control of floods and drainage. Under these seven schemes, the existing bunds would be strengthen to protect Ratia town from floods in Ghaggar and capacity of Rangoi Nala and diversion drain would be increased. Also, capacity of Rangoi Kharif Channel would be enhanced. He said that 80 water courses would be remodeled and Khudan distributry would be improved. He also announced to construct a canal rest house at Bhodiakhera at a cost of Rs 1.64 crore. He said that a “Sinchai Bhawan” would also be set up at Bhodiakhera at cost of Rs four crore.
Mr. Hooda said that Rs 3.38 crore would be spent to open government veterinary dispensaries at villages of Hasanga, Sukhlampur, Tamaspura, Gholu and Ratangarh and a veterinary hospital would come up at Hizrawakalan. He said that the veterinary hospital would be shifted from Ratia to out skirts. With a view to improve transport facility and enhanced connectivity of Ratia, he announced to introduced four new bus services. These included bus service between Ratia and Chandigarh. It would leave Ratia at 4 a.m. and return from Chandigarh at 5 p.m. There would be bus services between Ratia and Bretan in Punjab. Another bus would ply between Raita and Talwandi Sabo and Ratia and Amritsar Sahib.
Mr. Hooda said since the formation of his government, a number of schemes have been implemented for all sections of the society including farmers, labourers, employees, weaker section of the society, senior citizens, children and traders. He said that he had been to many villages in the area and during interaction with farmers, he observed that they were surprised that how the prices of their land increased by manifold in short period. He said that he apprised them that it was his decision which made them “crore-pati” overnight as a policy was implemented to give adequate compensation for land to the owners.
Mr. Hooda said that in the last 40 years there had been only one power plant set up by Mr. Bansi Lal but during his tenure his government had set up four power plants to increase power generation. As many as 3.78 lakh plots of 100 sq. yd. each have been distributed free of cost among the poor. A Rs. 2500 crore Rajiv Gandhi Urban Renewal Mission has been implemented and rate of Old Age Allowanve has been increased from Rs. 300 per month to Rs. 500 and Rs. 700. Haryana was the first state to give maximum wages under the Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Mr Hooda said that HPCC President Mr Phool Chand Mullana could not attend the rally as he was not well. Similarly, Finance Minister Mr H.S.Chattha could not come as he was abroad.
Local MP, Dr. Ashok Tanwar described victory of Congress candidate in Ratia as a historic win for the Congress party and said that the Congress had registered remarkable improvement in public support.
