Chandigarh, December 23 –Mr. Deepender Singh Hooda, MP from Rohtak, has urged the Central Government to construct new National Highways from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh to Narnaul in Haryana and another from Dwarka in Delhi to Jhunjhunu of Rajasthan as these two National Highways would pass through various districts of Haryana and would further improve road transportation in the State.
Mr. Hooda gave this information at Jhajjar today.He said that the demand for construction of these highways is related to the Road Transport Policy of Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and National Highway Authority of India to connect all district headquarters in the country with National Highways.
Mr. Hooda had called on Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Oscar Fernandes to hand over a charter of demands to him for construction of these highways. Also, he met with Secretary,Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Vijay Chhibber and presented to him a copy of the demands. The Ministry assured that soon action would be taken in this regard.
In his first demand the MP has asked for National Highway connectivity from Meerut to areas of Haryana namely Sonipat-Kharkhauda-Sampla-
On this occasion, MP also gave information about another important project namely four laning of Jhajjar-Farukhnagar(alongwith bypass)-Gurgaon. He said that the NCR Planning Board has its meeting on December 30 and he would put forth this demand in that meeting. The construction work of this demand would soon begin if it gets approved in the meeting. Tender has also been allotted for four laning of Badli-Badhsa to Basai Chowk of Gurgaon and its construction would start soon.
He said that the Extension Campus of IIT Delhi at Rai and Badhsa would provide unique identity to Haryana at international level. IIT would open Faculty Development Centre at Rai in which short term courses of two to six months would be provided to teachers of ITIs, Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges, he added.
