Special Judge (CBI) A K Verma, after hearing arguments in Ranjit Singh and journalist Ram Chander Chattarpati murder cases, fixed 12th December for pronouncing orders on framing of charges.
The court has already framed charges against the Dera chief in the case pertaining to sexual exploitation of a religious follower. The CBI counsel alleged the Dera chief was involved in the conspiracy to murder Ranjit Singh, a sect manager, and Sirsa-based scribe Chattarpati.
The defence counsel, on the other hand, contended the CBI had falsely implicated the Dera chief in the two murder cases. The CBI produced two witnesses in the sexual exploitation case today.
Ram Rahim Singh did not appear in the court due to security reasons. The court took serious note of it and directed the defence counsel to ensure his presence at the next hearing.
