Chandigarh, November 7 – Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Health, Mrs Navraj Sandhu, has assured representatives of the HCMS Association that the state government is actively and positively considering all their demands. She gave this assurance at a meeting held here today.
Detailed discussions have been held with representatives of the association and they have been advised against going on strike or taking mass casual leave as the Health Department renders very important and essential services to the people.
Mrs Sandhu appealed to all HCMS doctors not to resort to agitational approach keeping in view public interest and their obligation towards the society. However, she said that if some officers still went on mass casual leave, stern action would be taken against them. Civil surgeons have been asked to maintain essential health services.
