CS Kanwar ,Kurukshetra, October 6 : It was almost a Chautala Day in the holy city of Kurukshetra when all the young Chautalas thronged the city for a political cause of mustering strength from the youth cadre of their Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) party. The elderly Chautalas could not mark their presence due to legal reasons confined in Delhi’s Tihar jail. The young Chautalas, namely Digvijay Chautala, Dushyant Chautala, Karan Chautala and Arjun Chautala under the suble and able guidance of Abhay Chautala, the younger grandson of late Chaudhary Devi Lal, former Deputy Prime Minister of India , were on the dais in a function held in Kurukshetra University, flanked by senior leaders of the party including the president of Haryana unit of the INLD Mr Ashok Arora, MLA from Thanesar (Kurukshetra) and some other former MLAs of nearby places.
The occasion of this congregation was flagging off the ‘Yuva Jan Chetna Yatra’ in the state in which thousands of students and youths owing allegiance to their party would participate in march throughout the state which shall terminate in Rohtak on 2nd December next. Secondly, it was a day for the deliberations amongst the party leaders to chalk out a concrete programme for celebrations of the anniversary of Devi Lal on 1st November next which coincides with the foundation day of Haryana too. Thirdly, the mementos reminding the viewers of Tau Devi Lal, in a shape of mobile museum, have been included in this youth awareness march which has started attracting the old and the young alike, in the name of veteran rural leader Devi Lal.
Mr Digvijay Chautala, All India President of the youth wing of the INLD party, who was instrumental in organising this congregation, was all set for leading the youth of the state through this strategy. He exhorted the youth of the state to uproot the congress party from power. He blamed the congress for a conspiracy against the elder chautalas, Om Prakash Chautala and Ajay Chautala who had provided opportunities to 3206 educated youths of the state to seek government jobs during their last tenure of being in power. ” If congress is bent upon pushing our leaders to jails for giving jobs to Haryana educated youth, we shall commit this again for the cause of Haryana youth”, he said, adding that Hooda government has miserably failed to give jobs to youth of the state.
After flagging off the youth yatra, Mr Abhay Chautala said that people of the state will throng Kurukshetra on 1 November to participate in the anniversary celebrations of Tau Devi Lal who had launched a crusade against the congress government after the emergency in 1977, giving him a chance to rise to the position of the chief minister and again in 1987 too. he said the INLD would also launch its political campaign from the holy city of Kurukshetra on the Haryana Foundation Day to mark it as if Haryana, as a separate state, was the creation of Devi Lal. He assured the cadre of the party that after the assembly polls in five states, congress would fall flat leading to bickering at center level and even in Haryana.
Later, Abhay Chautala and Ashok Arora had a meeting with the party leaders in Punjabi Dharamshala to chalk out the programmes of organising Haryana Day as INLD leader’s day in Kurukshetra. Duties of various kinds were assigned to the rank and file of the party leaders for making the first november day as a memorable one in the history of the party even without its key leaders, which may launch the beginning of the new era for the youger Chautalas too.
