Chandigarh, September 6 – The Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Mrs. Sumita Misra today disclosed that the Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for bye-election to Hisar Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency.
She said that according to schedule, the notification for bye-election will be issued on September 19 whereas the last date for making nominations will be September 26. The scrutiny of the nominations will take place on September 27 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be September 29. The polling will be held on October 13 from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.. The counting of votes will be done on October 17 at 8.00 a.m..She said that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used during the bye-election. The electoral rolls revised with reference to 1.1.2011 and already published will be used for this bye-election. She said that for polling votes, electoral photo identy card will be main documents for voter’s identification. She added that in order to ensure that no voter is deprived of his/her franchise, if his/her name figures in the electoral rolls, separate instructions will be issued to allow additional documents for identification of voters at the time of poll in the bye-election.
She further said that the model code of conduct will come into force w.e.f. 6.9.11 and it will apply in the entire district as well as other areas which falls under the Hisar Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency. The model code of conduct shall be applicable to all candidates, political parties and the State government concerned. The model code of conduct shall also be applicable to the Union government. All the concerned departments/agencies of Central/State government working in the constituency have been directed to ensure proper implementation of Model Code of India.
