Jan 3—Mr Deepender Singh Hooda, Rohtak MP, said here today that the Bahardurgarh bypass would be opened to traffic next month, even if it required concerned officers and the construction company to work round the clock.
He made a surprise visit to the Bahadurgarh by-pass which is under construction. During the visit, Mr Deepender Hooda, along with the Deputy Commissioner, Mr Ajit Balaji Joshi, and senior officers of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) inspected the 13-km-long bypass and identified the causes for the delay in the construction work.
The MP expressed resentment over the delay in construction of the road and directed concerned officers and NHAI representatives to open the highway to traffic by January 31, 2011 in any case.
“I would recommend stern action in case the company showed any laxity in the construction work. This bypass is an important part of the Rs 486-crore Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak road.
Mr. Deepender Hooda said that Bahadurgarh located on the outskirts of Delhi, was moving speedily on the path of development. The bypass would not only benefit the people of Bahadurgarh but also ensure smooth passage for the vehicles passing through the crowded city.
He said that two flyovers had been constructed on the 13.5-km bypass. Conceding the demand of the villagers of Jakhoda, he directed that provision should be made for an underpass at the bypass.
Earlier, he inspected the construction work on the Gymkhana Club in Sector-9. He directed the HUDA Administrator to expedite the construction work.
