Chandigarh, Feb 15 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Ram Mehar, Assistant District Education Officer,Jhajjar red handed while accepting illegal gratification of Rs.7,000 from Mr. Ram Bhagat, a resident of village Ladayan in district Jhajjar, who at present is coach HD Senior Secondary School, Salhawas.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that a case has been registered against the accused under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act at Police Station of State Vigilance Bureau, Rohtak. Further investigation of the case was in progress, he added.
In another case, the Bureau has also caught Bhoop Singh, JE, Irrigation Department, Faridabad red handed while accepting illegal gratification of Rs.10,000, in lieu of correction in the records of survey made for allotment of 100 square yards plots to BPL card holders, from Mr. Ravinder, a resident of Nachauli.
He said that Bhoop Singh was produced before the Duty Magistrate, Faridabad, who remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. A case has been registered against him under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act at Police Station of State Vigilance Bureau, Gurgaon. Further investigation of the case was in progress, he added.
