Ambala, May 20 – About 2.25 quintals of synthetic khoya has been seized today from the possession of shopkeepers of Sub division Barara in district Ambala. While giving this information, an official spokesman said that on a tip of that one Karnail Singh of village Patrehri was being supplying adult-rated khoya to various sweet shops located in the adjoining towns namely Nohani, Kaalpi and Mullana.
On this, a special team of officers was constituted and conducted a number of raids on the sweet shops of the area and recovered synthetic khoya as well as sweets made from it.
He said that after getting information from Karnail Singh, the special team also conducted raids on other sweet shops which included Saini Sweets (Nohani), Joginder Tea Stall, New Sahil Sweet House, Shubham Sweets (all in Kaalpi) and New Pahwa Sweet House (Dosarka) and recovered sweets made from the nakli khoya supplied by Karnail Singh. The owners of these shops namely Avtar Singh, Sarup and Pali have been arrested and a case had been registered against them in Mullana Police Station. Those found guilty will be tried under law.
