The relaxation will apply across all the categories of the teaching assistants, government spokespersons-ministers Jay Narayan Vyas and Saurabh Patel said here. The ministers said the appointment process through a transparent means was initiated in 2010 with the appointment of 8,000 teaching assistants for Standard-VIII in English and Mathematics-Science subjects.
The latest bold decision has been taken to ensure more experienced and efficient persons, who became graduates earlier but could not get appointment for having crossed the age limit, will be eligible now.
Earlier the age limit for the general category was 28 years which is now increased to 33. Similarly, that for the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, Baxi community and other backward classes which was earlier 33 years is now increased to 38.
