11 Feb : Over 400 delegates from across the country have converged in Goa to discuss the roadmap for India’s e-governance at a two-day national conference from Thursday.Based on the theme `E-Governance-Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges,’ the conference will deliberate on people-friendly administration through e-governance.
"The conference will provide a platform for practitioners, academicians, industry and consulting sector and the civil society to come together and deliberate on the emerging challenges and conceptualise strategies for implementation and managing changes," State Finance Secretary Udipta Ray told a press conference in Panaji on Wednesday.
The national awards on e-governance will also be declared in seven categories, Ray said.
The conference is organized by Department of Union Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Department of Information Technology and Department of Information Technology.
"The national conference on e-governance was first organised 12 years ago. Since then, the national conference has often been the forerunner to host innovative ideas and practices in the domain of e-governance," Ray said.
