NCP leader and Union minister Praful Patel said that when the results of the Lok Sabha elections are due in two weeks time, where is the need for such an enquiry.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also joined the ranks in opposing the government’s move.
He has termed as “wrong” the Centre’s announcement for setting up a judicial commission to probe the snoopgate issue allegedly involving Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister said the decision should have been implemented when it was taken in December.Meanwhile, the Congress responded back saying, no compromise on going ahead with snoopgate enquiry.
On Friday, the central government had said a judicial commission to probe “snoopgate” allegedly involving Modi will be in place before the Lok Sabha poll process comes to an end on May 16.
