New Delhi, 3rd October 2008- ‘We the People’ (WTP), a NGO with an objective for uplifting the ‘Common Man” and a passion to contribute to the society by supporting human endeavours for elevating realities into better life experiences, are advancing the campaign ‘Sampoorn Samridhi’ to the next front.
This is an innovative project for the development of mobile hawkers, initiated jointly in collaboration with the DSFDC Ltd, under the Self – Employment Scheme for Rehabilitation of Manual Scavengers (SRMS) Scheme of Govt of India for persons from weaker & underprivileged section of society,It is a red letter day in this march of WTP for the betterment of the people at the grassroots, being launched by Smt. Sheila Dikshit, CM, Delhi, under its first phase, will provide 31 Acme Cold Carts, supported by DSFDC Ltd. / Govt of NCT of Delhi.
WTP’s ‘Sampooran Samridhi’ initiative to upgrade & improve the standard of life & quality of working of the common man is a technology driven solution supporting the policy of the Govt. of India for eradication of poverty & removal of social inequity. The national campaign initiated by the Govt. of India to abolish manual scavenging & to support the rehabilitation of identified persons through its schemes to provide Self Employment opportunities & arrange modern equipment & trainings.
‘Sampoorn Samridhi’ translates into ‘Complete Prosperity’, this scheme of WTP envisages not only to improve the financial condition but also to upgrade through technology with social acceptability, of the so far unorganised segment of the society.
WTP through its project ‘Sampoorn Samridhi’ for the first time in the country has created an opportunity to completely address the barriers to growth by upgrading the mobile fresh fruit & vegetable hawkers by offering a complete solution & providing them with cold carts powered by green technology with additional benefits of regularising their profession and acknowledging their entrepreneurial skills. ‘Sampooran Samridhi’ by acting as intermediaries between the hawkers, the government agencies & the like minded corporate has also opened opportunities for further growth in the financial & social status of the mobile street vendor.
The Technology of these next generation vegetable & fruit Cold Carts being provided under ‘Sampooran Samridhi’ has been developed by Acme Cold Chain Solutions Pvt. Ltd, pioneer’s in developing cutting edge Technology for cold chain & storage solutions. This initiative of WTP will modernise the working style & upgrade the standard of living of the street vendors on one hand & will provide the customers a new version of modern living with supply of fresh fruit & vegetable at the door step in clean & hygienic condition
Sampooran Samridhi team will provide complete support i.e provisions of cold cart, training to use & maintain them, facility to avail fresh farm products of superior quality, without a visit to the mandis, replenished twice daily or more if required, PCM’s charged on location, provide rickshaw vs pushcart options, assistance with acquiring licenses, facilitate micro finance assistance, insurance of carts, arrange working capital, training in sales & access to best training tools such as information on nutrition, hygiene, sanitation, membership of health plan, usage of cap, apron, gloves etc.
