External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday said that she never requested British government for travel documents for Lalit Modi.
Making a statement in the Rajya Sabha amid opposition uproar, Swaraj said that opposition allegations against her are baseless.
The Minister has been facing opposition attacks which alleges her of helping the former IPL commissioner for getting UK travel papers.
Opposition has been demanding Swaraj’s resignation on the issue along with the removal of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje saying it will not allow the house to function until the duo resigns.
The government appealed to the opposition to allow the house to function have been fallen into deaf ears.
