23 Feb ; The Government appointed a Group of Interlocutors to hold a sustained dialogue with all sections of the people in Jammu & Kashmir. During their visits to J&K, the Group of Interlocutors have met various stakeholders including representatives of political parties, various communities, students delegations, welfare associations, community organizations, professional bodies and civil society outfits etc. The Interlocutors have been able to change the discourse and have been able to persuade a number of stakeholders to offer suggestions for a political solution.
No time-frame has been prescribed for the interlocutors. So far they have submitted four reports. The recommendations made in these reports have been sent to the concerned authorities.
This was stated by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Shri Gurudas Kamat in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
