12 Nov : Resident Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Wednesday warned the administration that they would begin a protest if the recently published advertisement to fill up vacant faculty posts for reserved category candidates was not withdrawn.
"We will give the ministry and the administration three to four days to withdraw. If no action is taken we will protest and even move the court," said AIIMS RDA President Harsh Kumar.
The advertisement, inviting applications for 95 posts for SC/ST and OBC candidates only, had appeared in national dailies on 4th and 5th November .
The institute maintains that the step is to fill up the backlog of vacancies for reserved category candidates. However, Kumar said that the move "ultimately makes 100 per cent reservation for the posts advertised.""The Supreme Court order has forbidden reservation in speciality and super-speciality branches of medicine but in this case those seats have also been advertised only for SC/ST and OBC candidates," he said.
He alleged that speciality and super-speciality branches such as cardio-vascular thoracic surgery, neurosurgery and others, which as per Supreme Court order are not open for recruitment through reservation, had also been advertised.
A faculty member said that "Even if this is a special recruitment drive only for reserved category candidates, all vacancies in the institute cannot be included in this. We plan to move court against this."
My friends , our leaders want only their vote bank they are not intrested for quality health system, if they are not finding any sc/st for these post, than why they are again and again giving advertisement.
SC/ST is also our friends and they are aware about our polticians. Please dont play with health system.
Thanks
