15 Mar : The suspension of four Samajwadi Party members from the Rajya Sabha for the rest of the Budget session for creating ruckus when the House was taking up the Women’s Reservation Bill was on Monday revoked.
The motion for revocation of the suspension of Veer Pal Singh Yadav, Nand Kishore Yadav, Amir Alam Khan and Kamal Akhtar was moved by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Pawan Kumar Bansal and approved by the House by a voice vote.
These Members along with one each of the RJD, LJP and one previously aligned with the JD(U) had been suspended on 9th March.
However, there was strong demand from the opposition parties that the Chair should show magnanimity and allow the Members to take part in the proceedings of the House.
