New Delhi : Delhi BJP has taken strong stand on Delhi Government’s decision to name Mohalla Clinics as Aam Aadmi Clinic. Delhi BJP President Sh. Satish Upadhyay has said that this is political nepotism and it seems that the Kejriwal Government has taken inspiration from erstwhile Ms. Mayawati Government of Uttar Pradesh which had installed hundreds of statues of Elephant the party’s election symbol all over the state. Later the Supreme Court & the Election Commission had taken cognizance of the matter and now before every election the Elephants are covered.
Shri Upadhyay has said Delhi BJP will raise a complaint in this context before the Lt. Governor of Delhi and the Election Commission soon. He has said that when the Government announced this scheme they said that these would be Mohalla Clinics and same should remain the name.
Delhi BJP General Secretary MP Shri Ramesh Bidhuri has said that last month South Delhi Municipal Corporation had launched Mobile Clinics with funds provide by him and soon other MCDs too are going to launch mobile clinics with funds provided by all Delhi MPs. This scheme of Mohalla Clinics seems to be a copy of Mobile Clinics concept.
Shri Bidhuri has said that by keeping Government clinics name similar to his political party’s name as Aam Aadmi Clinic, the Delhi Chief Minister has violated political & electoral code.
