The Govt has sent notices to Rajya Sabha Secretariat for passage of Lokpal Bill during the ongoing Budget Session of Parliament, Union Min V Narayanasamy said.
“The Government has sent notices to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat on February 18, 2012 for consideration and passing of the Bill during the current Budget session of Parliament and also for moving official amendments in the Bill as reported by the select committee,” Narayanasamy told the Upper House in a written reply on Thursday.
The Lokpal and Lokayuktas Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha on 27th December 2011 and is pending in the Rajya Sabha.
The Bill was referred to a select committee of Rajya Sabha which has since submitted its report on 23rd November, last year, the minister said.
The budget session of Parliament, which begin from 21st February, has a month-long break from 22nd March to 22nd April.
The session is scheduled to end on 10th May.
