New Delhi,21 May:Employees in Government offices, public sector undertakings and other public institutions throughout the country took pledge today in connection with the Anti-Terrorism Day. The Home Minister, Shri Shivraj Patil administer the oath to the officers and staff of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the North Block lawns here. Every year, 21st May is observed as Anti-Terrorism Day.
The objective behind observance of Anti-Terrorism Day is to wean away the youth from terrorism and cult of violence by highlighting the sufferings of common people and showing how it is prejudicial to national interest. The objective is achieved and through activities like pledge-taking, organisation of debates/discussions in schools, colleges and universities, holding of symposia/seminars, lectures, etc. on the dangers of terrorism and violence.
