Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday said dialogue is the only way to end the stand off with Team Anna as she met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his Parliament House office.
“All I can say that we should find a solution,” she told reporters outside the Parliament House after meeting the Prime Minister.Asked whether the dialogue is the only way to end the crisis, the Chief Minister said, “What else, only dialogue. I am saying…a dialogue of mutual respect.”
When asked about the situation, she said, “It is worrisome.”During the meeting, the Chief Minister is believed to have expressed concern over protesters staging demonstrations outside residences of political leaders.Dikshit had on Monday said serious efforts are underway to resolve the issue.”Serious efforts are on to find a solution. The Prime Minister has already spoken about it. The government is working on it (to find a solution),” Dikshit had said.
Asked whether she shared the views of her son and Delhi MP Sandip Dikshit that it was wrong on part of Delhi Police to arrest Hazare, she refused to give a direct reply.
“That stage is already over. Now we will have to find solution to the problem,” she said.
The East Delhi MP last week had said that the Gandhian should not have been arrested by the police.
Dikshit met Dr. Singh in the wake of Team Anna’s demand that government mandate somebody officially for opening a political dialogue on the Lokpal issue and suggested that it either withdraw the official bill or amend it by including provisions of the Jan Lokpal Bill.
