Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwary on Monday slammed the BJP president Nitin Gadkari for his controversial remarks over Swami Vivekanand and asked the main opposition party to apologise to the people of India.
Clarifying his remarks, BJP president Nitin Gadkari said that he has not compared Swami Vivekanad to anyone. He has only said that proper channelizing of mental faculties can make a person great like Swamiji while its misuse can make a man evil.
“In psychology, we measure IQ level of people…But it depends from person to person, in which area they use their intelligence,” Gadkari said at an award ceremony.
“As per psychology if we can compare the IQ level of Swami Vivekanand and that of Dawood Ibrahim, then it could have been almost the same. But Vivekanand used it in nation building, brotherhood and spiritualism while Dawood used that in excelling in crime world,” he added.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Digvijay Singh took a dig at the BJP over its chief Nitin Gadkari’s remark that the intelligence quotient level of Swami Vivekanand and Dawood Ibrahim could have been almost the same.
“In a function in Bhopal Gadkari said ‘IQ of Swami Vivekanand and Dawood Ibrahim was same’. Any comment from (Narender) Modi and his fans?” Singh said on Twitter.
